This spring we added the first batch of additional US States to the Global Privacy Platform. We want to keep the GPP ahead of these changes as more states approach effective dates for privacy regulations in late 2024 and the first half of 2025. This second batch of additional US State sections includes Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Tennessee. A public comment period will run until Thursday, September 5th. Stakeholders are encouraged to contribute their feedback either by directly commenting on the Pull Request or by reaching out via email to support@iabtechlab.com. Changes Overview
Folders for the states of Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Tennessee were created. Each state includes a README.md file and a GPP extension based on the state’s technical specifications. All six state folders are nested with the US States section folder of the GPP specification.
In addition to the state-specific updates, updates to the Section Information.md file have been added to include these six states, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

Updates to US National section
The Global Privacy Working Group is currently drafting updates to the US National section of the GPP. At this time, the US National section offers coverage for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah. However, the US National section does not yet include coverage for Florida, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Tennessee. Once the updates are finalized, the US National section will provide comprehensive coverage of all US State sections in the GPP. It is important for those relying on the US National section as part of their strategy to be aware of this temporary gap.
