
Mission
Launching in January 2026, the IAB Tech Lab Asia Pacific Communications Group serves as a bridge between the global digital advertising technology community and the Asian and Australia/New Zealand markets. This helps Asia Pacific stakeholders remain at the forefront of industry innovation and standardization efforts. Established to address the unique market dynamics of the region’s digital advertising, our group facilitates transparent, regular communication about the latest developments emerging from IAB Tech Lab’s collaborative initiatives.
Our primary mission is to democratize access to information about IAB Tech Lab’s work in creating open standards that shape the future of digital advertising technology in collaboration with our members. We achieve this through:
- Transparency & Accessibility: Breaking down complex technical developments into digestible insights that serve diverse audiences across the Asia Pacific digital ecosystems, from technical implementers to business strategists and regulatory professionals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Fostering meaningful dialogue between IAB Tech Lab’s global working groups and Asia Pacific market participants, ensuring that regional perspectives and requirements are understood and considered in standard development processes.
- Knowledge Transfer: Providing timely updates on working group progress, new releases, emerging standards, and industry best practices that directly impact Asia Pacific operations and compliance requirements.
- Community Building: Creating a collaborative environment where Asia Pacific stakeholders can engage with ongoing standardization efforts, share insights, and contribute to the evolution of industry standards.
Each session covers updates to IAB Tech Lab Standards, new initiatives, such as Trusted Server, and the LLM Content Monetization Protocols (CoMP), and other relevant topics related to technical standards and working being done with our members. The discussion will usually be presented by Tech Lab Product Owners, or Tech Lab Product Leadership.
Status
The Asia Pacific Communication Group is open to Members and Non-Members, and meets monthly, on the third Wednesday of the month. Should Group Members not be able to attend in person, a recording will be circulated to the group the following week. Group Members will also receive a monthly newsletter during the last week of the month.
